Supporting young people to thrive

In the UK, our focus is on giving children and young people the best possible start in life. We do this by funding charities that provide early, effective support, especially in mental health and for disadvantaged youth.

Our approach is long-term and flexible: multi-year, often unrestricted grants that help organisations grow with confidence. We back leaders with vision, charities with evidence of impact and programmes that have the potential to change lives at scale.

Why mental health?

Why mental health?
One in six children in the UK now has a diagnosable mental health condition. Many wait months or even years for treatment. Early intervention can prevent problems from escalating yet services are overstretched and underfunded.

That’s why we support charities working in children and young people’s mental health with a focus on prevention and early years. This includes specialist work on eating disorders which have risen sharply among young people in recent years. We also support initiatives tackling the long-term impact of domestic abuse which can severely affect wellbeing and future prospects.

Why disadvantaged youth?

Why disadvantaged youth?
Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds often face significant barriers to education, employment and opportunity. The result is a cycle of inequality that limits potential and reduces life chances.

We fund organisations that help young people stay in education, access training and secure meaningful jobs.

How we fund

We take a strategic approach to funding, identifying charities with strong leadership, proven impact and the ambition to grow.

We rarely fund alone. Where possible, we look for opportunities to co-fund alongside partners such as The Prudence Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, Henry Smith Foundation, Impetus and others.
